Phase 1 - Getting fit for the MOT 2006
- O/S Trailing Arm - replace - done
- Handbrake effectiveness - seems better
- Drivers window - now working
- Replace headlight bowls and surrounds - headlights and retainers replaced.
- Fix offside indicator and brake lights - done but new ones ideally required.
- Adjust bonnet - better but still needs tweaking.
- Secure battery - done
- Clean out cooling system - done as part of the rebuild.
- Fix possible split in silencer - small 30mm split above inlet pipe welded.
- Replace door mirrors - Now fitted some Mini ones.
To Do
- Replace o/s window channel felt - done.
- Fit door speakers - new Kenwood speakers and grills fitted
- Replace carpets - finally done.
- Fix boot leaks - nearside drain pipe epoxied in place.
- Passenger seat to be re-upholstered - replaced the seats instead.
- Both front discs slightly pitted (advisory 2006) - replaced at a cost of 12GBP
- Offside front wheel bearing slight play (advisory 2006)
- Offside rear wheel bearing feels rough (advisory 2006)Actually the nearside is the rough one and has been replaced.
- Fuel cap seal starting to perish - done.
- Rear side lights slightly flashing with indicators (advisory 2006) - replaced light boards and connectors.
- Slight corrosion on front and rear chassis (advisory 2006)An understatement - completed
- Slight play in bottom steering UJ (advisory 2006). - replaced.
- Slight play in steering rack (advisory 2006)
- Replace blown dash bulbs - done.
- Powder coat the wheels. - new wheels fitted instead.
- Recover the targa panels.
- Check and adjust doors - done.
- Replace exhaust clamps with low profile ones. - done.
- Re-center steering wheel - done.
- Secure carpet in the boot.
- Horn volume low (advisory 2007) - done.
- Offside front track rod end has slight play (advisory 2007) - done.
- Clutch master cylinder leaking - replaced with a Land Rover unit.
- Upgrade the brakes. - done.
- Quieter exhaust needed. - done.
- Gearbox noise on 5th gear.
