The red car is a 1991 SEiW. Powered by a mildly tuned 1.6CVH engine it was pushing out approx 125bhp so was swift in a 600kg car. However that didn't stop me aquiring the bits to upgrade it to a 1.8 Zetec. This upgrade never happened as planned because it would have meant the car was off the road for a bit so I purchased the green car as a summer project.
Spring saw the building and fitting of a Megajolt Lite electronic ignition system. Starting is so much easier now and it even idles at cold. I had intended on using this ignition on the Zetec engine but that will require another unit to be built.
As Seen on TV
This car was in a piece on track days that featured on Look East on May 2nd 2005. Louise had her piece to camera and was even down as a Westfield owner. The cheek of it - I purchased her a MX5 the day before so the westie was mine.
Latest upgrade is a chrome plated RAC style roll bar which was an ebay bargain. The car needs some attention to the rear wishbones due to the powder coating starting to fail. There is another 1.8 Zetec Escort engine in the garage now ready for a transplant. Just need to find the rest of the bits.
Now being upgraded - see here.
